My name is Samantha Hunt, and I have worked in education for most of my life in a variety of ways. I began my educational career at 18 years old in Deaf education. After two years, I joined Navy and graduated from the Navy Nuclear Power Training Command and served aboard the USS Enterprise as a nuclear operator. After leaving the Navy, I obtained a Biology degree and worked in Special Education as a paraprofessional for two years with New Caney ISD, Texas. After becoming certified in Math 8-12 and Science 8-12, I worked for both Aldine ISD teaching various math classes, then Cleveland ISD teaching both Algebra I and IPC. I am also ESL certified. I hold Bachelor’s Degrees in both Biology and Mathematics, and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics. Additional experiences included tutoring students of all ages in various subjects, tutoring German language, and translating WWII documents from German to English. I also have a published work in Sam Houston State University’s undergraduate journal titled “Preservation of a Dying Culture: A Study of Sorbian/Wendish Poetry.”
